Classroom Procedures
Please see classroom procedures listed on the following PowerPoint:
Classmate Praise
If a student shows persistence on a difficult problem, goes above and beyond to help the class or a classmate, shows a growth mindset, etc. he/she deserves praise!
This is something that we will develop as a group.

Classroom Expectations and Consequences
ExpectationStudents will give their best effort and work on class assignments, homework, etc.
Students will have their homework completed. Students will have their required materials in class each day, including their homework. Students will not talk while others are talking or take away from other students' learning with disruptions. Students will not work on homework or work for other classes while in class. |
ConsequenceAs given, the expectation is to have the assignment the day it is due. For small everyday assignments (iXL) these cannot be made up unless there is an adequate reason and that is explained prior to the start of class. (All assignments are available daily/nightly on the 6th Grade Planner).
If there are are chronic issues, we will create a plan and work on it. If there is no improvement, then we will reach out for support and go from there. I want students to be successful. Homework is designed to help solidify a concept; if it is too hard, and that is expressed at the start of class, then I do not expect it to be completed, but I do expect it to be attempted. First offense: Students will receive a warning Second offense: Students will be moved to the safe seat. Third offense: Students will be asked to complete work in the buddy room. If student misses instruction, he/she will stay in for lunch or after school to receive the lesson Continues: I will reach out to partner with parents to come up with a plan to support the student |
